Ishaan and Katie came to us with a blank slate. No country in mind, no must-sees, no fixed ideas. Twenty-one days. No interference. No budget cap. Just three small briefs and a free hand.
They were getting married in Spain in August, Katie sweats at the drop of a hat, and that they both just wanted to relax after a big fat Indian wedding. He loves a spacious room, a long spa afternoon, and an in-house restaurant he never has to leave. She'd done one rushed post-college Euro trip and wanted this to be very different.
We started them in Lake Garda. Then, a drive up north to the Dolomites to stay at the hotel we've been dreaming about for years: Forestis. They didn't leave the property for two days. Suite, spa, restaurant, repeat. Katie later said it felt like being in a cult, but a really nice one.
Then Amsterdam, because Ishaan's birthday landed mid-trip and Amsterdam is his favourite city in the world. A canal boat with wine for her, something else for him.
Then Croatia — Katie's one request — Hvar, Dubrovnik, and Korčula. A private Game of Thrones walking tour with Jelena, our guide there. They ended in Rome before flying home to start their married life in Hyderabad.
